Fidias: The Creator That Broke The Law

Side Note: Please do not go and attack or harass this person.

If you thought that many of the channels that do challenge videos were incredibly bad, well we have another one today and as expected it's not going to be pretty. Challenge related videos are just so bad in particular that it leads to them getting into trouble, getting injured and suffering the consequences or serving jailtime which is extremely rare especially in this day in age. A primary example of this is TGFBro cementing his head in a microwave while the other contenders being Elisocray, Lyssy Noel and Morgz. No matter how you look at it all of it is terrible. Well, today we are talking about Fidias; a Cypriot YouTuber who basically broke the law in Japan and the whole country is out to attack him.

Fidias (also known as Fidias Panayiotou) started his account on March 12, 2019 and uploaded his first video six days later on March 18, 2019, titled "Fidias First Video (so bad)." Obviously because it was his first video, everyone knows that it's cringe when people come out with their first video. Anyways, random videos including challenges would come out more frequently between 2019 and 2020 and when TikTok was blowing up in the media he took on a challenge to shutdown. an entire mall but this didn't last as it was the only TikTok Event he ever created. Fidias went from having a couple thousand views (which is ridiculously small in this day and age) to over Millions of views with the change of his content. He also did a collaboration with MrBeast for the Last Hand Car Challenge and he won. He also gave Elon Musk a hug. One of his most popular and yet most viewed videos on his channel is the Elon Musk Hugging video which sits at over 13M views.

The Major Fall:

Crossing Japan Illegally / Severe Backlash:

Depending upon where you go, every country has rules. If you want to travel from one place to another in Japan, you have to buy a ticket (or multiple tickets if more people are coming along) as it's normally permitted. Trying to ride via bus or train and extorting it for free is a serious crime in Japan. Fidias did that serious crime in Japan bypassing the paying system to get to one location to another in a video that he posted. Keep in mind that the video has since been deleted but reuploaded. As expect, the video was received extremely poor with everyone agreeing that what he did was a crime. This video sent Japan into a complete frenzy as twitter was blowing up under the #Fidias and various different news articles came out with Japan opening an investigation on the matter. Japan was out to get Fidias to arrest him and to make matters worse, he fled the country to avoid the arrest. I guess you could say that the YouTube fame was out to get him.

The Fakest of fake Apologies.

Literally the next day after the drama unfolded, Fidias comes out (just like any YouTuber) with an apology but it's not even a real apology, instead it's about him making money to keep himself relevant and monetize which makes the situation worse for him. He did apologize in the comment section of the video but again the damage was already doneYouTube stepped in, removed 5 of Fidias videos and issued a warning on the matter. Is this really what YouTuber's have become, an endless cesspool of crimes? It would seem like it because the platform has been destroyed and ruined for years. If there were ways to fix YouTube, you can't fix it.
