Worst YouTuber Segment: Antoons: The Insulting Tracer and a Complete Scumbag

Another day another art related channel and quite frankly the worst one that I've ever seen. I've talked about several different artists in the art/animation community with many of them controversial including LupisVulpes, GameToons (no controversies other than 2020 content), Arin Hanson, AmorAltra, Charem the Shadox and GaroShadowscale (with an update). Check those posts out if you're interested. Today we are talking about a guy that deserves to be shit on and that is Antoons; a YouTuber who is known in the art/animation community and was involved in creating some of the worst controversial/political comics of all time as well as being a tracer and a predator.

Antoons (also known as Anton Severtnik) started his account on June 23, 2014, but didn't upload anything until a week and a half later on July 4, 2014, when the first video titled "Mr. Sneaks - Episode 1" was released. Mr. Sneaks was (and probably still is) Anton's character and the first episode about it seems like a complete running gag full of political views and broken dreams. Anyways Anton was a cartoon animator and wasn't a completely active guy until 2016 and he started uploading more frequently rather than uploading a couple times a year. One of Anton's most viewed yet popular video is titled "Sonic Funeral." He would also make animated Deathbed videos which is based off of a webcomic called "Loss" by Ctrl+Alt+Del. A few examples of the Deathbed series are Sonics Deathbed (ft. Mario), The Powerpuff Girls Deathbed, Homer Simpson's Deathbed (ft. Fred Flintstone), Spongebob's Deathbed (ft Felix the Cat) and so on.

The Controversial Comics:

This part of the post will be separate in different sections. Anyways when you're looking at the image above you may be thinking to yourself, what does this have to do with the controversial comics? Well, this actually leads up to it. Way back between 2015 and 2017, Anton Servertnik would create a series of children's books. Obviously, he would do the artwork and illustrations. The books themselves look very professional and seem legit.

Then around three years later in 2020, he started making comics. Now with the comics you would've expected something that is completely original but it's the complete and total opposite and definitely way out of line. Anton definitely shows his true colors when it comes to these comics, outing himself for being transphobic, a Nazi and just an outright racist (let alone being an art teacher at the same time). As a result, Anton's comics received a hefty amount of backlash making him face the scrutiny. Honestly, this should've been the straw that broke the camel's back, but it gets more and more worse from here on out.

Now for those that don't know much in the art community, tracing is a terrible thing. It's essentially drawing in terms of characters to replicate the same poses or movement to where it looks identical. In other cases, tracers would overlay a character image and would trace the outlines and color schemes of that character. Needless to say, it's very easy to identify whether the person is a tracer.

Now back to Anton. It also doesn't come to a surprise that right around the same time period in 2020, Anton started to steal and trace people's artwork without asking permission. He was called out in a video (shown above) by a YouTuber named DaftPina who actually got him on in a Discord call. Some of the shit he was saying through me off guard. Here is just one of the quotes I pinpointed in the conversation, and I'll tell you what's wrong with it:

"You can see for yourself that the tracing in parodies is extremely common and I can prove you that. People like Flashgitz, OneyNG, people like [DaftPina asking for examples of them tracing] well I can show you right now." - Anton Severtnik.

While he's somewhat right about tracing being a common thing, in parodies not that much unless if someone is trying to compare it to the original. So he only gives us a couple of examples. One of which was Flashgitz's Paper Mario Parody and the other was OneyNG's The Sicksons (I would imagine it for Anton's proof) which really wasn't traced even if you added in the overlay. As a result, he's traced artwork from Cartoon Networks the Amazing World of Gumball, Disney's Gravity Falls and fellow artists like KrispyAnimation, Eddsworld, Brody Foxx, Psychicpebbles, Sophie, JacobLenstar (who is a complete bigot), MrBagHead3 and PriVer Animation.

He also still fails to realize that even if you try and explain it to him, he'll never understand. It's the primary reason why this guy is such a total piece of shit. Not to mentioned that when a couple of YouTuber's Prison Mate Luke and Izzzyzzz made videos on him, he struck them down due to violation and breaching an agreement. Izzzyzzz went on and deleted the video but was reuploaded by a different user. This is also due to the fact that Anton is such a pussy because he gets hurt so damn easily with words that he doesn't want to hear the truth. This is also to the point where both the art community and the animation community had turn against him.

Cosmodore:

This particular drama happened about a year ago. A YouTuber by the name of Cosmodore was outed for being a pedophile and a groomer. On February 23, 2021, Cosmodore made a response video (shown above, original was deleted but was reuploaded by someone else) in regard to the drama surrounding him. This is one of those situations where it ages so badly. Anton decided to write a comment about the situation, and this is what he had to say:

"Great video. The cancel mob is always the same, and I speak from experience lol And yeah, I think most people are insanely ignorant in the art/animation community, as they run on emotion. You did some bad things, sure, but its nowhere near as bad as the mob is accusing you of. I'm still a fan of your work, so keep going. Of course, you know how it all goes, Anton was heavily criticized for the comment still not yet realizing on what happened with Cosmodore. I also find the irony in this comment because he literally has done this kind of behavior to with the YouTuber's Just Stop and HarleyTBS.
