Let me be the first to say that I never talk about furries often here on this blog. The reason for this is well, there's a ton of them and would be long and boring if I talked about the topic for an extended period. The last furry related post I did was on LupisVulpes who was notorious for being transphobic. If you haven't seen that post, I recommend you check it out. Well today we are talking about another Furry but this time he has his own cult, his Patreon prices are ridiculously overpriced, his discord rules are strict and stalks users who follow him around and for this I give you GaroShadowscale. For some reason the drama for him keeps on building constantly and everyone has been catching on that this guy is a mentally ill patient with no morals or friends. He's essentially a dictator.
The history for Garo goes back all the way into 2017. He began his YouTube career, but he really didn't get much of a following. He would upload videos that were related to the game Dead Cells back in 2018 and upload videos related to the difficulty to the game along with some Twitch Integration. From there he would switch to other games including Terraria, Darkest Dungeon, Slay the Spire, Death Gambits and many others. The videos that I linked are just one of each since there's a ton of gameplay for those games on his channel. Anyways the first video that featured his face was when he was playing For Honor. Honestly his head looks like a square if you look at it closely. Now I'm not going to go through all of his videos as it's long and boring. However, his fursona made an appearance in July of 2019 with the video titled "Beating Elysium in Hades" in the thumbnail. He would continue to use his fursona in each of his video thumbnails. I guess it's one way to make your videos clickbaity but he would rarely get pass 1k views. In mid-July of 2020 during a Spongebob Rehydrated gameplay, he jumped on the VTuber bandwagon and changed his webcam to the VTuber layout of a raptor. This was eventually changed to his fursona in later videos. All of the videos that I linked are from his other channel GaroShadowscale Streams. He uses both his streaming channel and his main channel sometimes often and other times semi-often.

This is the the very start of GaroShadowscale's demise. You may be thinking to yourself, why am I showing you the same tier prices? Well, there are some distinct differences because he changed some of them. The 20-minute private voicecall was change to just Private voicecall, two discord DMs were change to Priority DMs, 20-minute Private VRChat Session was change to Private VRChat Session and so much more. I want to discuss the tiers for he's offering on Patreon. These were the only two noticeable ones and I got to say this is way overpriced for someone that is filled with greed. Unfortunately, there are supporters for him, and they've paid that same amount on what he's wanting. I'm not even surprised that no one reported him to Patreon because they probably wouldn't do anything to stop him and that sad. As of October of 2022, he has since removed both the $250 and $500 tiers from the Patreon so I can't get the second screenshot to compare. Someone served him right.

If you join his server, it's all about himself wanting to gain more attention. He also goes on to state that when you're in his server, you are not allowed to interact with his moral enemies because he monitors your every movement and also not to create or start a YouTube channel (which is ironicly stupid). Like I said he monitors the user's activity including watchtime and when you're watching his streams, he calculates how much of his stream you've watched and will tell you whether or not you qualify for a regular status of his content. He's like a kid who's frantic about everything or getting famous and then pulling a dick move. Hope that made any sense. Keep in mind that this is all the way back into 2020, so the drama with him keeps on going.
The Drama / Response and #GaroShadowscale:
With the light of this drama, many users on twitter and across other platforms including some of Garo's moderators expressed their feeling and opinions. Not even for like a split-second Garo won't even listen to anybody or to his "fans". The drama itself has gotten so bad that a new hashtag was created under the name #garoshadowscale. It's still ongoing and it's still continuing to grow but not as frequent as what it was back in November of 2021. But wait there's more. Not only was it a trend on Twitter but also on YouTube as well. Many creators such as Lanza, BetaEtaDelota, Coyote Lovely, Spatnz, Rigozen, Salty, Danderwoolf and so much more. It also made it on Global Furry Television which is a YouTube channel that's based on furry related topics. The reason why I can't put all of the videos in each of these posts is because it fucks up the layout on my end, so sorry about that. I'll try to add them later.
Next thing you know his statement comes out on November 10, 2021, which is shown in the video above. One thing that I forgot to mention is that he moderates comments on each of his YouTube videos. So, trying to find a negative comment is very hard to find unless if someone screenshots it before it's deleted or privated. Anyways in the video he mentions that he wanted to "apologize" to several (not all of them) in his DMs in the past, talks about how most of his community isn't pledged Patrons and that he talks to them every single day regardless of the status and so on. I didn't watch the rest of it because it's very cringeworthy.

I want to clarify some things wrong with his "apology". Saying that he talks and hangouts with people in his DMs (and Discord) every day is basically him wanting to gain more attention and more money. I mean if you go back and look at the screenshots that are shown in the post (and in the sources), he won't talk to anybody unless you give him the Patreon money and the fact that if you talk to someone else in the server something that is off topic, you get a message from Garo basically saying, 'Focus your attention on me.' His "apology" to some (not all) of his members is not even genuine. Apology videos are the worst, and he takes the cake. There's also a claim where he is buying subs or is sub-botting. At the time I'm making this post (since he disabled likes/dislikes on his pathetic apology video), the video has 617 likes and 5628 dislikes so there are many layers wrong with him. This video also catches onto other YouTuber's like Arenthio, Drongo Paws Productions, and several others. He just doesn't know when to stop.
