There has been such the terrible age of prank videos and for that it completely shows. Back when YouTube was just a thing for people to upload content, there were the channels that would do prank videos and for most people would consider this the golden age of content. However, I digress because there comes a time where "a simple prank" could lead them into getting a lot of trouble. Many of the channels that do the grossest, yet disgusting things always get away with it, but not for this couple as we are talking about Saucy and Honey; a YouTube couple that used to do prank videos a while back but leading up to the drama is what ended them up in jail for trespassing.
Saucy and Honey (formerly known as Charlotte Fischer and Johnson Larose) started their channel on April 22, 2020 (right around when Covid was taking place). They posted their first video on May 8 and the video was all about getting to know them. They were considered to be a vlog type channel and would upload videos related to vlogs. A few of their prank videos are 'Turning my Girlfriends Mouth Green', 'Another Guy Sent me Flowers', 'Flower Shower Prank on my Boyfriend' and 'Having Another Girls Lipstick on Me Prank'. One of their most popular yet viewed video (which will talk about shortly) on their channel is titled "24 HOUR OVERNIGHT CHALLENGE IN TARGET!! (CAUGHT?!?)." Saucy and Honey are considered to be a decent but small channel with the sub count sitting around 25k.
The Exponential Fall:
The Target Trespassing Video / The Arrest:
A DailyMail News article about the situation. |
The Mugshots. |
The worst part about these particular YouTuber's that stay at a supermarket or store overnight, they never get caught in the act, even when there's cameras throughout the building. Now this obviously the most controversial video on their channel (shown above) is both Saucy and Honey staying at Target for 24 hours (which was uploaded way back on February 21, 2022). The whole situation got so bad that the very next day, they were arrested and were sentence to 7 years in jail. However unfortunately their bail was set at $25,000 to which they paid. Many articles such as DailyMail and Distractify talk about it a little more in depth. The worst part about it is that they didn't even do the 24 hours they anticipated and only stayed until 3AM. Even worse when they don't realize that their being recorded through the security cameras.
The Backlash / Response:
As a result, the video received a lot of backlashes from the community and also received a 6.2k likes to 8.4k dislike ratio. Many YouTubers such as Penguinz0, Luke Davidson, Atozy and JACK TV went on to make videos about it, even some news networks like The Breakfast Club, Inside Edition and Fox 29 Philadelphia also talked about the charges.
Like I said before, they paid for the bail and aside from all of the controversy, they came out with a video on March 25, 2022, titled "addressing everything..." (video shown above) where they address the situation along with the other YouTuber's talking about it. This is essentially another way of just saying that 'I'm clearing the air' type of narrative. The video was received close to a mixbag claiming that they don't regret anything which is a fucked-up mentality. Even though they moved on from this drama, they're considered to be a bad channel for being stupid.
So what happened? Did they go to prison?
ReplyDeleteThey did serve some jailtime. However, they had a bond set to $25,000 so they paid for it to continue producing videos on their channel.
