MK8 Master!: Another Manchild

Side Note: Please do not go and attack or harass this person.

We haven't talked about anything related to gaming in like a week so let's talk about another gaming YouTuber. It would seem as if I find any smaller channels like this, they would end up being at the bottom of the bin (literally). I've talked about gaming YouTuber's before like DeeterPlays and uwucutesingle to the terrible companies like YouTooz and DKOldies (along with an Update). Check out those posts if you're interested, but anyways we have another YouTuber to talk about and for this we have MK8 Master!; an Austrailian YouTuber that used to do vlog related videos and moved onto gaming content but throughout his history garnered him controversies including copyright abuse.

MK8 Master (also known as Tim Stokes) started his account on April 10, 2014, but didn't upload anything to the channel until 2 years later on March 17, 2016 with the first video titled "Zip line over the Eden Project." I'm not exactly sure if this is Tim's first video because the video date on that video showed October 10, 2014. Anyways whatever the case may be, his early content consisted of gaming related videos like several different Minecraft videos as well as Mobile games like Clash Royale Battle, Boom Beach and Hay Day. During this time period, he would switch up his content around to doing short vlog type videos like a Fidget Spinner Video and doing those scam Gift Card Giveaway videos that are just the bottom tier for this day in age. One of his most popular and yet most viewed video on his channel is titled "Slugterra PowerPoint Slideshow" sitting at 60k views.

The Major Fall:

Accused of Sub-Botting / Copyright Strike Abuse:

Sub-Botting isn't surprising to say the least, I mean we've seen it from various YouTuber's before and there is a difference in between subscriber count and view count. With Tim on the other hand, he's been accused of sub-botting multiple times with in the last few years. The reason for the sub count is because around the start of his channel, he used to upload episodes of a Canadian cartoon called Slugterra. This would garner him hundreds if not thousands of subscribers until it all came to an end, and he had to delete all of those videos. It's also the reason for the low view count. After the video deletions, viewers would leave and never watch his content again as the videos on his channel would barely reach between 100-500 views per video. Regardless of if he did sub-bot, it's kind of a grayscale.

Apart from all the use of sub-botting, there's also the copyright abuse. On August 11, 2022, a YouTuber by the name of Viz (who also produces garbage Pokemon content) posted a tweet about Tim (MK8 Master!) giving him a false copyright strike on a couple of his videos (strikes were lifted). Tim claims that he thought Viz was stealing his content (or trying to copy his content). That alone became false and while Viz got public support, Tim got severe backlash from the community to which he made a community post apologizing to Viz and he lifted the strike. There could've been other ways to settle things but instead Tim took the douchebag way. The situation was covered by ASST Sailor.

The 'Alpharad' Collab / Birthday Bribing and Harassing:

So Tim is known for basically harassing popular YouTuber's in the past. One of which is when every year when his birthday rolls around, he would tag popular YouTuber's and telling them to wish him a happy birthday. If it doesn't happen, he'll continue to do this every single year. The funniest thing about this is that no one knows who this guy really is, so they just see him as some sort of outsider. As far as I'm concern, Tim continues to do this to this day and several people called him out on it and no one is buying it to say the least.

The last thing on this post is the collaboration. Way back on May 16, 2021, Tim had announce that a collaboration with the YouTuber Alpharad was in the works. Many people speculated that it was a hoax and on the same day, people wanted him to show proof (including the conversations) and he does, but it's not legitimate. During this time, Tim kept bragging about the collaboration being worked on and on October 14, 2021, he announced that the collaboration was cancelled due to the drama surrounding him. Nevertheless, it's proof that doesn't exist because that said person doen't know you. Nothing happened between almost a full year and many people knew that it was fake. Hell, even Alpharad himself confirmed that the collaboration was fake. This is what manipulation can do to a person and it's awful.
