With all the drama going on within the last few weeks, it actually feels good to start the new year off with newer and newer YouTuber's coming onto this blog. I mean seriously, where does the time actually go? But anyways we are back for an update on The Completionist (a.k.a. Jirard Kahlil) because something has changed slightly. For those that don't know and need context, I made a post around the end of November titled "The Completionist Screwed Up Big Time" and how he went from being a guy who likes to play games to withholding the money that was supposed to be donated to charities. Well, this is actually the first update of the year so were going over somethings and comparisons.

Even though I didn't talk about the history on him, I will make a quick recap here. The Completionist (a.k.a Jirard Kahlil) is a guy who's known for playing games to try and complete them 100%, hence the reason for the channel name. This would also make him rise into fame by doing charity livestreams where him and his friends play games while money is being donated to the Open Hands Foundation, a charity that Jirard manages. However, this is where the downfall for him goes. Almost every single charity stream he would always say that the money being donated to the stream will be donated to other charities. Because The Open Hands Foundation (TOHF) runs under nonprofit, they are legally to have their information public. Based on the reports, the money was never donated to the other charities and instead Jirard kept it. This also led to the excuse of him trying to find charities to his liking rather than all of them. After Karl Jobst released the video on Jirard and how he kept the money lying to people, either him or some higher up from TOHF issued a privacy complaint against Karl to which YouTube denied and Karl was able to get his video back up.
What's New:
The Failed Response:
It's been several weeks (or preferably a month) since the drama unfolded against Jirard and during that time he was radio silent. On December 9, 2023, he decided to come back and make a response video addressing the situation regarding The Open Hands Foundation and the money. The video is close to 20 minutes long and I'll just give you snippets on what he explained. Whenever they would receive the bits (via Twitch Donations) from users or superchats, they would go to Open Hands with him saying "were not touching any of it" and claims that the sources offset production costs. He then provides a shit-ton of links (basically news press) in his description box as well as bypassing the definition of embezzlement. The video was received negatively with 20k Likes to 93.3k Dislikes. Karl also released a video talking about it in depth.
Roughly 9 days later on December 18, SomeOrdinaryGamer posted a video I guess bringing on Jirard in a Discord call talking about the situation and confronting him. There are often times when he would leave the Discord call as a way to cover up topics he didn't want to talk about and not making any sense. As the drama still unfolds, it has become more and more uglier overtime and a lot more messier. Meanwhile, Karl has fired back against Jirard over the legal threats. Keep in mind that this is the same person (or within the Foundation) that tried to filed a privacy complaint against Karl but YouTube denied it.
One channel that talked about the situation was Moon Channel. I've brought him up in the past when he talked about the Minecraft Usage Guidelines back in September of 2023. Now he's been brought back to talk about the drama regarding Jirard and also bringing up Karl in the battle. To basically spoil the video for anyone who isn't going to watch it, it's mostly him not getting the whole situation at all and basically ignored the big evidence. Essentially, information that he knew that was very important was left out and it all comes as being too light. Early this morning, he comes out with a Community Post on his channel and shortly after trend on the r/TheCompletionist2 Subreddit.
While the video itself was well received, the video itself seems like a witty statement and tries to bash Karl for his investigation work, leaving key details as the most important part. To our surprise, most people weren't having it on how Moon Channel doesn't actually get the message. He also tries to claim the whole situation being an easy case when in actuality, it's not if you studied financials. The fact of the matter is it's a failed reasoning.
