Whatever Happened to Slamacow

Side Note: Please do not go and attack or harass this person.

Welcome back yet again to another episode of Whatever Happened To; where we talk about YouTuber's that were very promising but soon fell apart for being terrible. At the start of October, I talked about the Vlogger Dan Brown who formed the series Dan Brown Universe and how he fell apart hiding within the reddit premises. If you like this sort of series, then I will continue to do more of it. For today we are talking about an animator that was in the golden age for the Minecraft Community and that is Slamacow; a Minecraft Animator who made the golden age Minecraft Animations from back in the day, but unfortunately, did a drastic change and left in 2017 leaving people wondering where he's at right now.

Slamacow (also known as Steven Davis and Slamacow Creations) started his account on October 21, 2011. The first video that he posted was on October 22, 2011, and it was all about a new world at the time known as Skyblock. The overwhelming support that Steven made him do a lot more, so more videos were produced. In January of 2012, he was interviewed by another YouTuber talking about Steven's animations and why he takes pride in his work. If you've seen his work you would recognize his videos like Minecraft Leaking into the Real World, A Normal Morning in Minecraft, Office Shenanigans and so on. One of his most popular and yet most viewed video on his channel is called "Witch Encounter" which was posted on March 15, 2014 and sits at over 69M views on YouTube.

What Happened to Him:

Just like the Dan Brown post, Steven would continue to upload around the time when Minecraft was starting to fall out of the popularity zone. He would post his last video on May 14, 2017 and then would disappear for quite a long time. There had been a long gap between posting videos where the one previous video before his last video was posted on November 20, 2015. Because he's been gone for almost six entire years, his viewership took a hard plunge in August of 2021 but his subscriber count remained around the 2.8 million mark.

The strangest thing is that he deleted all of his social media except YouTube. It's a real shame because out of most people back in the day who were doing Minecraft Animations, he's one of the OG's. Then pretty recently, things would change as Steven would come back to post a video on January 31, 2023, titled "Mr. Saitou Game Trailer" which was a game he's been working on in conjunction with Morizora Studios. The game has been released and can be purchased for $12 on Steam and the reviews for the game were very positive. The only other thing that he's been active on is his Community Tab posting discussions with other videos every few months. So, while he may be still around, at least we know that he's doing fine.
