I never would've thought that I would have to make a post on this person anytime soon, but because she has been in my recommendations for quite some time now even upon reset, I had enough of this person taking up my feed and search up her history and it turns out were in for a doozy. This is also possibly the second time I ever get to use the word 'Parasite' in the title with the first one being GaroShadowscale. I normally don't talking about things related to pets but this might be the first of many and for this we have Rachel Fusaro; a dog guru and a nutritionist that specializes in dog related topics but since then switched over to dog food and trying to fear-monger the public.
Rachel Fusaro (that just how she goes by) started her channel on September 15, 2011, but remained inactive for roughly 5 years until June 5, 2016, with the first video titled "Foster Dog Recovery - Snakebite Scare." Her content at the time was mostly focused on dog related topics, mostly in the form of shelters and kennels. Rachel would also do things related to fundraising, Dog Care guides, Puppy Checklist, Health Tips and so on. She grew a reputation so quickly that she even started her own website called rachelfusaro.com where you can buy stuff that's dog related on her site. She also has a Facebook page dedicated to her stuff. One of the most popular and yet most viewed video on her channel is titled "How to Potty Train Your Puppy at 10 Weeks" which sits at over 4.4M views.
Why She's Misinformed:
Hate Against Dog Food Brands / Tin Foil Hat & Conspiracies:
For the most part, she used to be good with her primary focus were topics related to dogs and dog care but sometime around 2020 and 2021, she made a change to talk about Dog Food and Dog Food Brands and trying to convince people that the dog doesn't like cheap dog food. This cause her to basically fear monger her audience into thinking that there are problems with the popular dog food brands when in reality there isn't. A popular brand she criticizes often is Royal Canin and saying somethings related to big candy companies being part of that. In these videos it clearly shows that whenever she sees an ingredient in Royal Canin dog food or any dog food that is skeptical to her, she hasn't done any research into the logistics of what these specific ingredients actually are. Her fear mongering and misinformation comes off as very tinfoil hatty and many people in the comments agree with the lack of research she's done.
Three links lead to malicious sites. |
With the hate against the most popular dog food brands, many people on reddit started to question the legitimacy of her claims and all of them came back as a tinfoil hat conspiracy. Also, the users who fed their dogs all the brands that Rachel mentions, none of which had issues and the dogs are still living a happy life. I understand that there has to be nutrition in dog food for a healthy dog but a lot of times it's not always the best option especially when it comes to the expensive shit she recommends or when it comes to accidents. That's also the problem with her is that she'll specifically blame the owners if a dog has an accident on the floor leading to her drowning of insecurity. The shop on her website is bad as it's mostly affiliated links to Amazon with such a poor ass attempt to get you to click something. Some of the links on her shop page are also filled with malicious sites that was picked up by uBlock Origins.
