Worst YouTuber Segment: Whatever Happened to Chrisandthemike

It's near the ending of August but welcome back to another episode of Whatever Happened To; where we talk about YouTuber's that were very promising but soon fell apart for being terrible. Roughly 10 to 11 days ago, I discussed the popular Minecraft YouTuber AdamZoneTopMarks and how his content went from doing mod reviews and playing games for fun all the way down to clickbait titles and thumbnails that were sexist against women. Now we are talking about another Minecraft YouTuber who had moved his content to being a Roblox YouTuber and for this we have Chrisandthemike. This is also a guy that was very promising at the beginning but soon to decline in viewership.

The Decline:

Carflo & Garlien Fallout / Viewership & Algorithmic Monetization / Disappearance:

So, this first one involves several people. Chris use to make content in collaboration with Carflo and Garlien. For a while, it was going successful up until the point where things took a huge turn. From what Chris explains in this livestream, both Garlien and Carflo left due to Chris saying the fact that they were toxic people. Garlien was doing terribly so Chris made a tweet based on him regrowing himself while Carflo had sexual desires for Chris which wasn't his cup of tea and Carflo (during the time he was living with Chris) was very suicidal and needed help. This prompted Chris to set boundaries to the point of them leaving the group to fulfill a possible solo career. Carflo actually explains it in a Q&A posted back in October of 2020 near the ending of the video with Carflo saying that he's happy for them (which includes Chrisandthemike and others) and moved on.

Chris's channel started to fall into the decline with the world of Monetization issues as well as trying to stick with the algorithm. For those that don't know, Chris used to play games with his family with the first ever series titled Minecraft Family. From 2011 leading up to the Monetization issues, he stepped away from creating Minecraft Family again as he was having problems with the abuse from his family. Thus, leading up to Chris moving out of the situation and instead focusing on his gaming career with others (which didn't last).

In May of 2022, Chris had removed or privated a vast majority of his videos which lead to the steep decline of his viewership. Based on his socialblade, the viewership dip when the videos went private and the subscriber count has been steadily dropping since 2021. He did un-private most of his videos by the time that August rolled around, but privated them again in November. Unfortunately, Chris had disappeared from his channel, his Instagram and Twitter are gone and there hasn't been a sign of his return. Some people said that he retired and not keeping up with the situation regarding YouTube's problems, but I don't know. It sucks that a YouTuber you once looked up to have went downhill within a matter of years. It's one thing you can't get back even if you tried.
