Ben Phillips: One Crypto Scammer Please

Side Note: Please do not go and attack or harass this person.

Well were back once again to bring you another scam-based YouTuber known as Ben Phillips. This is the first time I ever get to talk about someone who's into Crypto. Of course, this is not the first time I've ever discussed things related to Crypto. One of the posts that involved Crypto and NFT's was ViralHog, a company that steals videos, violates peoples copyright and scams their audience. Check out that post if you're interested. Anyways were talking about Ben Phillips who had went from being homeless to being a millionaire within a matter of months, but the walls started to come crumbling down after he was exposed for a crypto scam behind the scenes. More on that later.

Ben Phillips (I guess that's his real name) started his account on September 4, 2014. His channel remained inactive for 4 to 5 months until February 10, 2015, when the first video titled "TROLLEY THIEF - PRANK" was released. His older videos relied on Pranks (which is why I hate these types of channels) with specific ones like I Love YouIt's Raining and Cloth Whip. Throughout his career, he continued to post more videos related to Pranks but would rarely ever do challenge type videos on his channel. Around in 2016, he started posting Vlogs with videos like I Found Dory! Then Cooked Her and I superglued it to his mouth!!. One of his most popular and yet most viewed video on his channel is titled "VIBRATING Pants on my bro in PUBLIC **PRANK**" which sits at 11M views at the time I'm making this post.

The Fall:

Safemoon Crypto Scam:

How much of the money he sold and how much he earned.

So this part is kind of hard to put it in words, so I'll give you a simplified version of it. Moral of the story, Ben would do promotions for a cryptocurrency called Safemoon and he would do this all the time because he owned it. On April 12, 2021, acting like a complete and utter dumbass, he leaked his wallet to the public. In the wallet shows thousands of dollars of what he got totaling up to roughly over $12,000,000. When he would get the maximum amount of tokens earned by doing the scam, he would brag about it and had sold 8.8 million dollars during the month of April. All of this information was covered by Coffeezilla in a video he made showing all the data on what Ben earned. This happened way back in April of 2022.

You would think that a guy like Ben Phillips would continue doing prank/vlog videos but having the resort to scamming people over Crypto. Anyways, after Coffeezilla's video on Ben, news outlets like Dexerto and Bitcoinist picked up on this story. Evidentially, he was charged a year later over this. It is currently unknown on what the penalty was. As a result, people weren't happy about the situation all over Twitter however he never addressed the scam and kept ongoing with his content. Now in terms of his subscriber count, he's been slowly losing subscribers ever since the start of July 2021. He reached his peak around 4,630,000 subs and now it's down to 4,570,000 subs. Pretty much a big difference.
